Chevrolet SS to be the name of brand's performance sedan, NASCAR entry
Thu, 17 May 2012It's back. Big, bad and with four doors, rear-wheel-drive performance will return to the Chevrolet sedan lineup in 2013, simply called the SS. Chevrolet confirmed on Thursday that “SS” will be the name of its next sporty four-door, and it will be used by NASCAR Sprint Cup teams starting at the 2013 Daytona 500.

Under the skin there’s a 3.0 litre V6 biturbo delivering 329bhp and an electric motor adding a further 116bhp which together give the S500 Plug-in the ability to blat to 62mph in just 5.2 seconds but return official economy of 100.9 mpg and emissions of a measly 65g/km. Mon, 15 Jul 2013The Toyota GT86 TRD Griffon 9Pictured) made its debut at Goodwood this weekend We’re still waiting for Toyota to make a more powerful version of the GT86 (and Subaru the BRZ), but we are starting to get more focused versions. We’ve already seen the GT86 TRD – developed by Toyota Racing development – as a road car limited edition, and last month we learnt that Toyota were going to debut a track version – the GT86 TRD Griffon – and that it would arrive at Goodwood. Now the Griffon has arrived looking immensely purposeful with its wings and diffuser and carbon fibre for the roof, doors, bonnet and boot and some severe fettling of the oily stuff with upgraded brakes, new alloys, mechanical limited slip diff and stiffer suspension.
