The company certainly loves catchily titled grands projets; following hot on the heels of the Nissan Revival Plan, Nissan 180 and Value-Up, it’s now announced the Nissan GT 2012 plan – spelling out the company’s strategic aims for the next five years.

But in the 7 years the IS F has been on sale it’s only managed to shift around 11,000 units, partly because it just didn’t have the dynamics or power of the M3, but also because few yet consider Lexus a ‘Performance’ brand. So the Lexus IS F has now ended production after a less than stellar sales showing, and Lexus are instead pinning their hopes for a credible M3 beater in the new RC F.
Chevrolet Volt uses parts made from oil-collecting booms
Tue, 21 Dec 2010General Motors is transforming about 100 miles of boom material used to soak up oil in the Gulf of Mexico into auto parts for the Chevrolet Volt. The oil-soaked plastic material collected off the Alabama and Louisiana coasts will keep more than 100,000 pounds of waste from the nation's landfills. The project is expected to make enough plastic to supply the first-year production of Volts with plastic parts for under the hood.
