Porsche Panamera to receive long-wheelbase treatment for 2012

Porsche is developing a long-wheelbase version of the Panamera in a bid to satisfy demand for greater rear-seat legroom from customers in North American and China. Details remain sketchy, but insiders at the company's research and development center in Germany have indicated to AutoWeek that the 115-inch wheelbase of today's Panamera will be extended by almost five inches, taking it up to nearly 120 inches. By comparison, the long-wheelbase version of the Mercedes-Benz S-class boasts a 124-inch wheelbase.

Mercedes has announced the hottest E-class you can buy, the E63 AMG S, will cost from £83,470 in the UK from June 2013. In uprated 'S' guise, the 577bhp/580lb ft exec saloon monster can only be ordered with 4Matic all-wheel drive in left-hand drive markets, but the UK gets only rear-drive cars. Hyundai previews upcoming HND-9 concept

Hyundai has given us the first look at its latest concept car ahead of its debut at this month's Seoul motor show. The HND-9 concept, which previews the next-generation Genesis coupe, is the ninth concept from the carmaker's Namyang design center in Korea. Hyundai describes it as "a modern interpretation of a classic premium sports coupe" that displays the latest evolution of its fluidic future design language.
