Up for grabs, I have a lower unit removed from a 1970s 20 HP Mercury outboard. It shifts fine by hand into all gears and turns smoothly by hand. The previous owner lost the oil drain screw and used a different screw which has a head that seems too big. There was no oil in the gear case when I got it. I'm not sure if its due to the oil drain screw, or the seals, but I suspect it has something to do with the screw. I can't guarantee the seals are good on this lower unit, but it seems to be in otherwise good condition.

Lexus IS 220d gets more frugal
Mon, 19 Jan 2009Lexus is the latest car maker to have a play and a tweak, and it has just announced revisions to the Lexus IS 220d, which means more miles, for less fuel and lower emissions without any decrease in performance or increase in price. Hard to argue with. Lexus IS 220d - Now cheaper to run Lexus has managed to bring the Co2 emissions on the Lexus IS 220d down from the previous 163g/km to 148g/km.

Seven talented students – who had responded to briefs set by GM, PSA Peugeot Citroen, SAIC (with its MG brand) and Volkswagen – were presented with awards in five categories, and five were given the opportunity to attend Northumbria University's Transportation Design course, in the UK, on a two week placement. The five students – Bingyang Hu, Geng Li, Yanchao Wang, Kaiji Pu and Liang Chen – began this exciting, yet challenging journey in December 2009, when they entered the 2010 Car Design Awards China competition.

The Ford Focus has been something of a phenomenon for Ford in the UK and has now racked up sales of 1,500,000 in the UK since it hit UK roads back in 1998. Ford are shouting about the Focus’s achievements – quite rightly – and have sent the landmark Focus to Essex cricketer Jaik Mickleburgh, no doubt as part of Ford’s ongoing sponsorship of Essex cricket.
