Caterham Seven Supersport R (2012) first pictures
Fri, 09 Nov 2012It's certainly been a busy week for Caterham. Just a few days ago the company announced its partnership with Renault to create a new range of Alpine sports cars, and now the Surrey-based outfit has gone back its roots to develop an even more hardcore version of the Seven Supersport. Mercedes SLS AMG: F1 Safety Car 2010
Sat, 27 Feb 2010The Mercedes SLS AMG will be the F1 safety car in 2010 The new F1 season is close to kicking off, and we’ll get round to doing a preview of what’s happening at the start of the 2010 season once we’ve got Geneva out of the way (at least the first bit of Geneva - the F1 season starts on 14th March in Bahrain so we’ll need to get round to it before then). But one bit of news that isn’t team or driver related is the announcement that the safety car for 2010 will be the Mercedes SLS AMG, replacing the car that’s done the job for the last two years – the Mercedes SL63 AMG. Surprisingly, the SLS AMG is the most powerful car ever to be used as a safety car in F1.
General Motors to keep green car technology in house
Wed, 12 Aug 2009For the first time in its 100-year history, General Motors plans to design, develop and manufacture electric motors for its growing array of gasoline-electric hybrids and electric vehicles. The electric motors used in GM's current lineup of hybrids are made to GM specifications by outside vendors. GM wants to bring the design and manufacturing in-house to save money and to apply its own technology to boost performance, lower weight and reduce power consumption, said Larry Nitz, GM's chief hybrid powertrain engineer.
