A very rare and early car radio made by the inventors, Motorola. This model, 60 dates to the Mid 1930's.  I am told that the speaker is even more rare than the actual radio and could be worth a substantial amout.  I am just looking to get rid of it all in one lot.  I am sure that this set is worth more than the $500.00 asking price but I am willing to let it go to someone that will put it to good use or display it.  Feel free to make a REASONABLE OFFER and I may accept it...

For your consideration here, Is what I have come to find out may be a very rare vintage Motorola Car Radio dating to the Mid to late 1930s.  I am told that this may be the rarest of all of the Motorola Radios.  I have been told that this may have been in the Police Cars back then.....

The Motorola began in Chicago, Illinois as Galvin Manufacturing Corporation in 1928 and were first makers of Radios made specifically for cars. They began producing Car Radios in 1930, under the brand name "Motorola" ("Motor" referring to the car and "ola" refer to the sound, as in "Victr-OLA") Eventually, the company changed it's name to match the brand and still exists as the company we know today.

This model 60 radio dates to the MID TO LATE 1930s, making it an early Car Radio from a time before auto makers rarely offered that option. The separate equipment and somewhat complicated aftermarket installation made these very expensive at the time and thus harder to find today.

This radio is untested. The radio appears to be an all original, excellent candidate for restoration.

The case of the Radio does have some minor scuffs and paint loss from storage and use. There are also a couple of  minor dings, but it is in overall good condition. some of the original screws which fasten the case to the chassis are also missing.

On the left side of the case are various connections that have their function embossed on the metal case. The Radio has not been tested and is offered in as-is condition.

This would a great addition to a 1930s Auto Restoration, or Vintage Radio collection.

Volvos get a facelift: V70, XC70 & S80 get tweaked

2011 Volvo S80 Facelift - tweaks to cosmetics and diesels Well, if you’re going to have a fiddle with one car, you may as well have a fiddle with three. That seems to be Volvo’s point of view as it performs a bit of plastic surgery on the Volvo V70, Volvo XC70 and Volvo S80, and fettles the oily bits in to the bargain. Under the skin, it’s tweaks to the diesel lumps that dominate, with both the D3 (2.0 litre) and D5 (2.4 litre) getting some work.

One lap of the Web: A drive with Magnus and drifting an Jag XJ220

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

Unkempt Porsche trend-maker Magnus Walker's brand of customized 911 has the world buzzing. If the magazine covers and documentaries aren't enough, consider that one of his builds just sold for $302,000 at Gooding's Monterey Sale -- against a high estimate of $150,000. Pretty steep for a customized 911.

Jaguar XF 2.0 litre EcoBoost for China

Tue, 12 Jun 2012

Jaguar are to fit the 2.0 litre EcoBoost engine to the XF for the Chinese market as a more affordable entry point for the XF range. Even though Jaguar Land Rover are yet to get official Chinese Government approval for their Joint Venture with Chery, China is already a big market for them and, just like other luxury car makers, they are willing to produce cars just for the China market. According to reports from China, the Jaguar XF is about to get the 2.0 litre EcoBoost engine from the Range Rover Evoque to create a new entry-level Jaguar XF at a more appealing price point.
