BMW has announced the Competition Package for the M3
We’ve had something of a run of updates and tweaks for the BMW 3 series this year. We’ve had changes for 2010 to the 3 Series Coupe and Convertible and last month we reported that there was going to be a BMW M3 Competition Package on offer very soon. BMW has now caught up with our story and have revealed the details of the M3 Competition Package for the UK.

The middle week of September was a crowded one for the CDN team with coverage of the Frankfurt motor show but we still found time to get our period tweeds out and head down to Sussex to cover the Revival weekend. This historic motor racing festival runs over three days, with Friday set aside for qualifying and practice, and races on Saturday and Sunday, with aggregated times to decide the final winner. Special themes this year included 50 years of the E-Type and this years' Fordwater Trophy grid was composed exclusively of this classic front-engined GT, including Lightweight and Low Drag versions that took on the Ferraris and Cobras of the period.

Back in August we reported that the Radical SR8LM had taken the Nurburgring record for a production car, just a week after Gumpert had claimed the record for themselves. Not that it was the first time Radical had held the record. They achieved a time of 6:55 in 2005 with the Radical SR8, but this time was 7 seconds faster that that at 6:48.
