The Top Gear Crew in UAE with an LP670-4 SV, Veyron, SLR 722 and McLaren F1 The whole Top Gear crew – including His Stigness the White Stig – have been spotted out playing in the United Arab Emirates with what looks like a mouth-watering selection of cars at their disposal. Which rather seems to suggest that the budget for the new series is not quite as small as we’d feared! So what’s on offer on this jaunt?

The Toyota FT-1 concept would make a damn fine new Supra

The Detroit auto show is just getting started, and Toyota has kicked things off with a nice surprise: The racy FT-1 concept. A product of Toyota's Calty Design Research facility, the FT-1 concept shares some of the swoops and vents with the Lexus RC F. But there's a boatload of high-performance styling cues there, too: Take a quick glance and you might spot the front end of a Ferrari Enzo, the profile of the Nissan GT-R, the double-bubble roof of the SRT Viper/any number of Zagato creations and the oversized retractable rear wing of the McLaren P1.

MotorExpo London 2009 – a quick look

Merceeds Benz E Class is just one of the exhibitors at London' MotorExpo 2009 So it looks like, with a few exceptions such as the Geneva Motor Show, we will have to make do with ‘Boutique’ style shows. But at least they’re usually free and you do get pretty good access to the cars. And this week sees MotorExpo open for business in London’s Canary Wharf, with a reasonably impressive range of manufacturers showing up to display their latest wares, and a smattering of UK debuts to boot.
