Porsche unveils 2015 911 Targa
Mon, 13 Jan 2014Porsche has given its latest 911 Targa a heavy dose of retro appeal through the adoption of a series of classic styling cues that hark back to that of the original model launched in 1965. Unveiled at the Detroit auto show, the new 911 Targa is based around the same aluminium bodyshell and four-wheel drive mechanical package as the 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet, alongside which it will be produced at Porsche's Zuffenhausen factory on the outskirts of Stuttgart, Germany. Among the traditional styling elements Porsche's design boss Michael Mauer has chosen to resurrect on the new car is a fixed B-pillar hoop, or Targa bar as it has come to be known over the years.
Renault 5 revival to take on DS3?
Sat, 19 Mar 2011Renault 5 Turbo - perhaps the only remotely iconic R5 What have been the big successes in little cars in the past few years? Yep, recreations of bygone icons have wiped the floor with the opposition. The MINI and the Fiat 500 have ruled the roost for those who seek style and cool to go with small, chic and cheap to run.
Maybach Exelero for sale – ish
Fri, 28 May 2010A Swiss Company is offering replica Maybach Exeleros We’re not huge fans of the Maybach here at Cars UK, as you’ll know if you’ve been here before. It’s just so ill-conceived it beggars belief that a company as savvy and successful as Mercedes can’t see it. Mind you, we’re convinced they’ve just about given up on Maybach – even though they deny it – and the 100 Maybach Coupes being built by Xenatec are a swansong to the marque, which we’re convinced will go the same way it did in its previous life by simply stopping production.
