This particular package is for 450cc and larger Japanese motocross motors using 9.48 diameter shims. The shim kit comes in two marked and divided containers with three shims each size from 1.20 to 3.50mm in increments of .05mm / .002". They won't fit the 450 KTM. A 32 blade metric thin top tapered feeler gauge set 0.03mm/.001" to 1mm/.040" 95mm long. The smaller sizes are in half thousandths, perfect for checking shim bucket type valve trains. The resulting concept would be shown at the Tokyo motor show in 1983. Given confidence by the increasing success and expanding global presence of Japanese cars, including the previous generation N12 NX, Nissan's designers, led by Tom Semple, decided that the NX-21 (for 21st century) was the answer.
