Radical Cup comes to North America

The 2013 Radical Cup USA schedule was announced on Wednesday. The brand new gentleman-racer series will host 12 events over six weekends, beginning in March at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah and is set to wrap up in September at the Monticello Motor Club in New York. The 270-hp Radical SR3 and 460-hp Radical SR8 already compete in one-make series’ in Europe, Australia and the Middle East.

Volvo to trial self-driving cars on public roads

Volvo Volvo has announced that it will soon begin a trial of 100 self-driving cars on the public roads around the Swedish city of Gothenburg. While many other carmakers – and Google – have been experimenting with this kind of autonomous driving technology, the ‘Drive Me – Self-driving cars for sustainable mobility’ project is set to see driverless cars mix with real traffic on real roads. Manufacturers report 2013 sales boom

CAR MANUFACTURERS are reporting strong surges in sales for 2013, with one mainstream brand up by more than 55%. So far Ford, Vauxhall, Skoda, MG, Lexus, Renault, Audi and Mercedes have all reported excellent sales performance, with Mercedes having passed the 100,000 registrations per year mark for the first time in the UK. Largely thanks to the introduction of the Dacia brand this year, the Renault Group has seen a 55.3% rise in sales, to 63,319 units.
