Nissan Townpod concept preview

Nissan has just released this image of its new Townpod concept, which offers insight into how the brand could expand its portfolio of zero-emission vehicles. It will be displayed at the Paris motor show.  Designed to offer zero-emissions mobility to a future generation of home-based, innovative entrepreneurs who are creative and tech-savvy, the Townpod "combines eye-catching design with a spacious and practical interior," Nissan says. "[It's] more than just a car and it's more than just a van – it heralds a new-era of flexible, stylish vehicles that will bring electric-vehicle mobility to the masses." Top Gear: Just like Milli Vanilli, says Elon Musk

The Top Gear boys do their best Milli Vanilli impression The ongoing spat between Top Gear and Tesla – mainly in the form of CEO Elon Musk – is still rumbling on. In fact, it’s starting to get a bit silly. You know the background; Top Gear did a review of the Tesla Roadster and implied it had a range of just 55 miles (although they did say that was on the Top Gear track), said that the motor overheated and reduced power (which they ‘illustrated’ with the Tesla slowing on a darkened track) and said the brakes broke (when a fuse had gone).

The established car makers will use the experience Tesla has gained developing the high-performance, £92,000 Roadster as a short cut to  getting their own electric cars on sale. 'Smaller Teslas in the pipeline' Tesla plans to have its Model S five-seat electric hatchback on sale by 2010 in both the United States and Europe.
