Unique book captures iconic motor racing colours

A BEAUTIFUL new book has been released that documents 77 different liveries from famous racing cars throughout the decades. Among the famous and celebrated paint schemes set out in Racing Colours are Gulf, Martini and British Racing Green classics from the racetrack and even from cinema, like that of the Porsche 917K driven by Steve McQueen’s Michael Delaney in the 1970 film Le Mans. Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction rakes in $18 million

Barrett-Jackson's Palm Beach auction concluded on Sunday with more than $18 million in sales at the South Florida Fairgrounds. A 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 crossed the block for $1,000,000. Money flows at Monterey Auctions

Buyers of classic vehicles have dug deep into their pockets at auctions on the Monterey Peninsula, easily topping the sales totals from last year with one auction still remaining. More than $203 million has been spent on 704 vehicles, for an average sale price of $288,360. In 2011, the auction houses set a record for total sales during Pebble Beach week at $197,732,538 having been spent on 881 vehicles for an average sale price of $224,441.
