Mon, 25 May 2009Mazda has updated the RX-8 in Japan with new colours and extra equipment [ad#ad-1] Well, it does make sense to update your cars in your home market first, so the updates to the Mazda RX-8 for the Japanese market announced today are almost certain to come to UK cars before long. Just like the updates Mazda made to the MX-5 in Japan were followed by updates to the Mazda MX-5 UK spec car shortly after. Despite the fact that the Mazda RX-8 is not the best-selling car in the world, it does have an awful lot going for it.

The Leipzig Auto Show may not rank in the top tier of world car shows, but that’s not stopping Volkswagen from turning up with a whole heap of new models this weekend. The VW CC R Line is exactly what it says on the badge, a butched-up version of VW’s CC with a set of 17″ alloys, a bit of a body kit, a splash of chrome and a R Line multi function steering wheel inside.

So what’s the IFR Aspid, I hear you asking. Think something akin to a Caterham 7, but sporting technology from Buck Rogers and with none of your garden-shed makers bare-bones creature comforts.
