Third make-up-inspired Citroen DS3 revealed

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

THERE'S not a lot that the two disciplines of circuit racing and applying make-up have in common, but Citroen and Benefit decided to change all that ahead of this weekend's Silverstone Grand Prix. The cheeky French car brand has introduced the third in its line-up of DS3 special edition models built using inspiration from the famous cosmetics label. This new DS3 DSign Noire, inspired by a new eyeliner from Benefit, took part in a unique 'Fast & Fabulous' race against its two designer siblings at the home of British Formula One, where racers and beauty bloggers had to complete a lap of the track in the DSign Noire, the DSign by Benefit and the Dstyle by Benefit.

Skoda Citigo Monte Carlo launches – costs from £10,590

Tue, 13 May 2014

Skoda Citigo Monte Carlo (pictured) launches The Skoda Citigo may be a small city runaround, but that’s not stopping Skoda tagging the Monte Carlo badge on to give it a bit more appeal. The Skoda Citigo Monte Carlo has been launched with the usual array of tweaks and titivations Skoda likes to use on its Monte Carlo models, but no extra power. That means a trim level based on the mid-range Citigo SE spec with black highlights for the exterior on the alloys, front and rear spoiler, rear diffuser, grill and door mirrors and a lowering of the suspension for a more dynamic appearance.

New Hyundai Test Centre at the Nurburgring revealed

Sun, 02 Jun 2013

Hyundai’s new test centre at the Nurburgring If anyone had said, just a few years ago, that Hyundai would develop a test centre at the Nurburgring to help shake-down their cars, they’d have been laughed at. But Hyundai – and Kia – have come so far in recent years that it makes absolute sense for them to develop a full-time testing facility at the Nurburgring to test their cars for the road, along with just about every other car maker of note. James May may object to the Nurburgring factor in the suspension set-ups of many road cars (and we do have some sympathy for his point of view), but the sometimes extreme nature of the Nurburgring’s surfaces – and its endless twists and turns, uphill and down – do offer car makers an easily accessible place to test cars in the (almost) real world.
