FOR CUSTOM TORSION HOUSINGS This kit uses a 3/4 heim joint to allow your trailing arm to freely pivot up and down. We offer these spring plate conversion kits for both a stock VW style torsion housing or "custom" torsion housing. A stock VW style torsion housing is wider than a custom torsion housing and requires a bend in the plate leading back to the trailing arm so the plate will line up correctly with the trailing arm. Hardware and heim joints are not included with this set. Two 3/4-16 bolts that are 2 inches long are required to mount the heim joints on to the torsion plates. Ten 1/2-20 bolts that are 1 1/4 inches long are required to mount the spring plate to the trailing arm. Eight 3/8-24 bolts that are 2 1/4 inches long are required to mount the torsion cover plate to the torsion housing. Infiniti G to get Mercedes engine
Thu, 08 Apr 2010Infiniti’s volume line, the G series, will get a Mercedes-Benz engine as part the global alliance between Daimler AG and Renault-Nissan, the story AutoWeek blew wide open at the end of March. Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Renault SA and Nissan Motor Co., said the G will use a Mercedes inline four-cylinder from Daimler to improve fuel economy and cut emissions. He didn’t say when the engine would reach Infiniti production lines or indicate the extent to which it will replace Japanese-made four-cylinder and V6 engines used in the G sedan and coupe.
Seven-seater for Cadillac?
Thu, 27 May 2010Cadillac won’t comment, but it’s all over the Web that General Motors’ luxury division will get a version of the seven-seat sport-utility known internally as Lambda--externally known as the Chevrolet Traverse, the Buick Enclave and the GMC Acadia. No word on the Cadillac’s engine, but the other variants are powered by a 3.6-liter V6 varying in horsepower from 281 hp to 288 hp. Lambdas sell well, with more than 70,000 sold so far this year.

Wed, 19 Feb 2014The Vauxhall Adam Rocks (pictured) ready to roll in to production At last year’s Geneva Motor Show we got the first look at the Vauxhall Adam Rocks Concept, a butch little ADAM with raised ride height, extra cladding and a cabrio roof as Vauxhall attempted to turn their latest city car in to a funky urban Crossover / baby SUV. And the Vauxhall Adam Rocks is back at Geneva this year only this time it’s a production car that should launch later in the summer – and it looks like it should do well. With a ride height raised by 15mm, retuned suspension, extended wheel arches and the required black plastic cladding needed to turn it in to a pseudo off-roader (and 17″ or 18″ alloys) the ADAM Rocks looks the part.
