We've sold over 300 vintage tailgates that customers use in restorations and repurpose into benches, tables, fences or signs.   We generally have several different makes and models, so be sure to view our other auctions and check back often…you never know what Pete will find.

There is a reason they are so popular…the size makes them the perfect bench back and the old worn paint and random dents and dings give them unique character; the patina of the oxidized metal can only be produced by time and the elements.

This tailgate came off an old 40's Ford.  Pete wanted to remove the old license plate but I think it adds...if it doesn't suit you...you can.  There are definitely some signs of age; oxidized patina, dents and tear...but that's what we love about them.  Use the zoom feature and scroll over for an accurate visual description.  19 1/4" x 50".

See craftsmen build the Maserati Alfieri

Tue, 25 Mar 2014

At Geneva earlier this month, Maserati debuted the Alfieri concept, a love letter to Maserati's first 100 years and a preview of the next few years, if not the next 100. Here, design chief Lorenzo Ramaciotti shows how the Alfieri -- named after one of the five Maserati brothers -- was inspired by the 1954 Maserati A6GCS/53, as previously threatened, especially in the proportions. But like any car, the key is always in the proportions.
