One Lap of the Web: A rally car drinks beer
Tue, 11 Mar 2014-- Thierry Neuville was somewhere on his way back to the pits after finishing the final stage of the WRC Mexico when his Hyundai i20 rally car sprung a leak: The hole in the radiator was bleeding coolant at a frightening rate. If Neuville didn't make the 33 kilometers back, he would lose his second place standing behind Volkswagen and all would be lost. (Alas, them's the breaks in the sometimes-quixotic rulebook of the World Rally Championship.) Well, lucky for Neuville, his sponsors at Corona had presented him with a massive bottle of beer, which he then proceeded to pour into the radiator.
Jaguar F-Type Coupe is ‘Good to be Bad’ for Super Bowl Advert (video)
Wed, 29 Jan 2014The Jaguar F-Type Coupe is #GoodToBeBad Back in November we revealed that the Jaguar F-Type Coupe was going to feature in an advert – Rendezvous – during the Super Bowl in the US as Jaguar look to bring attention in the States to perhaps the most impressive Jaguar in a generation or two. Focusing on the predilection of Hollywood directors to cast British actors as villains, the new F-Type Coupe Super Bowl advert features Sir Ben Kingsley, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Strong as archetypal British villains, with the new Jaguar F-Type front and centre. The advert suggest that Brits make the best villains because they sound right, are more focused, more precise, always one step ahead, have a certain style, an eye for detail and are obsessed by power.

Last year it was a case of ‘Spot the BlueSport’ as rumours ran wild over which parts of the VW Group (what happened to re-naming it Auto Union – another of last year’s rumours?) would run with the ‘Baby Roadster’ platform VW had developed. Well it finally looks as if the rumours are starting to become substance.
