Correct for Corvettes Early to Mid 1968

  • We ship our deck lids using Greyhound PackageXpress to keep the shipping costs affordable. Our freight cost for a deck lid on average runs $165 where as Greyhound PackageXpress is about $70.00.
  • The deck lid must be picked up at a PackageXpress Station, so please provide us with a good contact phone number for Grehound to call you for pick up.

  • Early to Mid 1968 deck lids do not have the provisions to mount the soft top hold down bumpers. The change to deck lids with the bumpers was made in the assembly manuals in late March of 1968.
  • The deck lid is pretty much bare, only including the outer shell and the understructure.
  • The deck lid is black fiberglass.
  • The assembly shows some wear from use and storage.
  • The corners and edges show some wear and chipping due to making contact with the body.
  • The two front most corners show some heavy chipping and exposed fiberglass.
  • The rest of the paint surface shows checking and oxidation, as well as surface scratches.
  • The reinforcements and threaded plates are still firmly rivetted to the under structure of the deck lid.
  • The LH hinge corner will need some repair due to cracking around the mount holes.
  • The weatherstrip will need to be replaced.
  • The deck lid will work for all 1968-1975 Corvettes but there are no hold down bumpers for the soft top, no guide pins and no seat back bumpers.

Tracking numbers will be posted to the buyers Purchase History page in eBay. Most items ship out within 1 business day but sometimes it can take 3 business days.

If your item gets damaged in transit, please contact us immediately so we can get the things moving on a replacement.

If the tracking number for your package says it never got delivered, we will ship a replacement to you but it may take as many as 7 to 10 business days to get an insurance replacement on its way to you.

The VW Jetta gets a minor facelif It’s three years since the current VW Golf with a boot – the Volkswagen Jetta – arrived, so it’s time for a nip and a tuck to keep it relevant. Volkswagen are planning to roll out a facelift for the Jetta (above) at the New York Auto Show in a few days time and, although this is the North American version of the Jetta, the European tweaks will be much the same. That means an improvement in aerodynamics – by 10 per cent, say VW – with stop-start and low rolling resistance tyres to help economy too, a new nose with new grill, new bumpers and integrated fogs.

Following a year of intensive high-level talks and secretive, behind the scenes strategy meetings, Daimler AG and Renault SA have agreed on plans that will see their car-making divisions--Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Renault and Nissan--share resources on a wide range of products. The move signals more consolidation within the European automotive industry. Daimler chairman Dieter Zetsche and Renault president Carlos Ghosn have set out three primary areas of cooperation that will see the carmakers share small-car and light-commercial-vehicle platforms, small gasoline and diesel engines, and electric drive systems.
