The oldest licence holder is a 107-year-old woman, while there are 191 people aged over 100 who have licences. Once people reach 70 they must declare whether or not they are fit to drive every three years, without having to take a driving or medical examination.
Dany Bahar’s restored V8 Lotus Esprit for sale
Thu, 23 Aug 2012With Dany Bahar now ousted as Lotus boss, his fully restored 2002 V8 Lotus Esprit is up for sale. And it appears Bahar was a bit too grand to run around in any of Lotus’s current models as ambassador for the brand, instead deciding the way to go was a fully restored version of the last Lotus supercar – the Lotus Esprit.
Audi R8 e-tron killed off for production – again
Tue, 28 May 2013It’s more than six months since we reported that Audi were planning to kill off any production plans for the electric R8 e-Tron, with Audi’s head of R&D saying the production plans for the R8 were going to be scrapped. And it seems they have now gone in the bin. Autocar are reporting that Audi has confirmed to them that the R8 e-Tron won’t be going in to production and the ten latest e-Trons to be built will be used just for testing and development to help Audi with its ‘electrification’ plans, which will now almost certainly concentrate on plug-in hybrids and range extenders, rather than EVs.
