Toyota FT-CH Concept – a new ‘Small & Sporty’ Toyota Prius

The Toyota FT-CH Concept - a stumpy Prius Toyota held a 25 minute press conference this morning at the Detroit Motor Show to tell the assembled throng of journos that it’s going to make lots of Hybrids. Once everyone picked themselves up off the floor after the shock of that revelation, Toyota went on to say that the Toyota FT-CH Concept they were unveiling was a look at the future of Toyota’s hybrid cars and would be part of an extended family of Prius models. Will we ever recover from such shocking revelations?

The Frankfurt Motor Show 2009 runs from 17th -27th September to the public Many of the Japanese makers will be conspicuous by their absence, but that should be more than made up for by the launches from the big European makers. And of course the Koreans – in the guise of Hyundai and Kia – will do what they’re starting to do in the market place and fill the gap left by the Japanese. Honda cancels V8 program, S2000 and CR-Z convertible, report says

Fun appears to be on the chopping block at Honda. Plans for the successor to the S2000 sports car, a lineup of rear-drive Acuras, a proposed V8 engine and a drop-top built off the CR-Z hybrid are all dead, according to a report in a British magazine. The reason: Honda is rethinking its product plans as it grapples with the global downturn in sales and economic conditions, Autocar is reporting.
